Craft Circle's BMT Journey

9 years ago, Craft Circle ladies were making things for people in need, when one of our ladies suggested that we have a Biggest Morning tea. We looked into how to do it and so the ball started rolling, and we have been going ever since!

Our very first year we held it in the meeting rooms at Penrith Baptist Church, the Craft Circle ladies made sumptuous cakes etc for morning tea. We had 70 people attend and we raised around $900.

As the years have progressed we have made quilts to auction, had sales table and other fun fundraising competitions. We also found that with so many people coming we outgrew the meeting rooms so we now have the morning tea in the Auditorium of the church. So much more space!

Every year we ask everyone to bring in a favourite item for everyone to vote on, with the one raising the most winning a prize. This year we are featuring small cake plates! We can’t wait to see what you bring in!

The team is busily preparing the guessing competitions (pumpkin weight, hamper value, sweets in the jar, teabags in the teapot) and games for the day. And we have a growing collection of amazing quilts for you to bid on.

Last year we raised over $3,000! I wonder how everybody’s efforts are going to combine together this year?

All of us have lost someone we know and love to cancer. Many of us have fought this dreadful disease and many are still fighting so on 29^th May we will be doing our part for the fight. Please come and help us in this very worthy cause.
