  • 125g margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • 1/2 desiccated coconut
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1/2 teasoon vanilla


  1. Slice can be totally made in medium sized saucepan
  2. Melt margarine on medium heat, add brown sugar and stir well until sugar and margarine are thoroughly mixed
  3. Remove from heat, stir in cocoa and vanilla, add lightly beaten egg and mix well - add sifted flour and coconut
  4. Spread mixture evenly into a greased slice tray (approx 9'x 7')
  5. Cook at 170 degrees celcius for 20 minutes
  6. While hot, ice with chocolate icing- allow to cool and then cut into squares
