  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 3/4 cup self raising flour
  • 125 butter
  • 2 eggs beaten 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces chopped


  1. Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan until thick and bubbly
  2. Remove from heat, add cocoa and beat well, cool slighty
  3. Add eggs, flour, vanilla and walnuts, fold until combined
  4. Spoon into buttered 18-28cm slice pan
  5. Bake 180 degrees for 20 minutes
  6. Ready when firm in the centre
  7. Let cool and cut into squares
