My hero Tony

I lost my grandpa Tony almost 13 years ago and not only did I lose my grandparent but my best friend that day. Grandpa had battled with prostate cancer for almost 14 years. He was so strong and was the person who taught me that it was okay to admit when you weren't okay. He was my everything and I will never forget the night I begged mum to take me to hospital because I just knew I had to be there. That night I let mum leave the room and I held my Grandpa's hand and told him, "It's okay not to be okay and it's okay to let go, I love you".
He passed away early the next morning and I hoped and prayed he heard me and was now resting at last knowing we would be okay without him. Not a day goes by where I don't miss him but not a day goes by that I know he's proud of the granddaughter he raised.
