My mum Julia O’Connor passed away from bowel cancer just over 8 years ago. I want her to be remembered as someone who loved her friends and family so strongly and would’ve given anything to be here with them today.

Dear Friends
Three of my close friends are currently fighting cancer, and watching their journeys has been both heartbreaking and incredibly inspiring. This has reminded me how important it is to support research, early detection, and care for those affected.

Nella Cannavo
Remembering my dear sister Nella who passed away 2014 always in our hearts. Together with all the survivors and those who are battling this awful disease 🙏💗

As a nurse, I see how cancer affects so many lives, which is why this afternoon tea means a lot. It’s not just about fundraising—it’s about coming together, supporting one another, and making a real difference.

I am hosting Australia's Biggest Morning Tea in honor of my dad, who I lost in 2018 after a sudden battle with colorectal cancer. Cancer may have taken him from me, but it will never take away my hope that one day, together, we will beat cancer.

Karen Draper
I usually host my morning tea on my behave. However this year I'm doing it for many of my friends and family, as we have unfortunately got quiet a few of them battling this cruel disease.

My special Mum, Susan
To my special Mum, Susan. We lost her two years ago. She fought stoically against lung cancer. A couple of months ago, I welcomed my own baby girl into the world, and I know my Mum lives on in me and her. Forever on my shoulder and loved always. X

Paul
A tribute to our friend Paul, loved by many and known for embracing life to the fullest. At 59, he lost his battle with cancer. Will always remember his spirit, laughter, and kindness. Our BMT is also in honour of our workmates impacted by cancer.

My best friend, Nikki
A tribute to my best friend, Nikki, who fought bravely against brain cancer. Her sister, Lisa, and I lost our beautiful girl in 2010 at age 39. Loved beyond words. This morning tea honours all our family, friends and workmates impacted by cancer.
