25 YEARS OF HOSTING A BIGGEST MORNING TEA

This year marks the 25th Biggest Morning Tea I’ve hosted.  I continue to do this year after year because I firmly believe that research is vital to finding successful treatments for all types of cancer and, one day, perhaps a cure. But it’s not just about research—funding also helps provide much-needed support for nurses who offer comfort and care to patients and their families. 

I have friends and family members fighting this insidious disease right now. I also have associates who are in remission after months of grueling treatments. So many of us have lost a loved one to cancer. This is a cause that touches us all.

I understand the pain of losing loved ones to cancer. In 1989, I lost my mum to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Since then, I have lost my partner to multiple myeloma, my sister to a non-operative brain tumour, and too many friends to various forms of cancer. I’m sure many of you reading this could share a similar story of loss and heartache. In their honour I am once again hosting a Biggest Morning Tea.

Together, we can help fund the research, support, and treatments that will save lives and give hope to families like ours.
