Support my Biggest Morning Tea
This year marks the 26th Biggest Morning Tea I’ve hosted. Why do I continue to do this year after year? Because I firmly believe that research is vital to finding successful treatments for all types of cancer and, one day, perhaps a cure. But it’s not just about research—funding also helps provide much-needed support for nurses who offer comfort and care to patients and their families. These support workers are a lifeline for so many, providing both emotional and physical care during an incredibly difficult time.
I understand the pain of losing loved ones to cancer. In 1989, I lost my mum to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Since then, I have lost my partner to multiple myeloma, my youngest sister to a non-operative brain tumour, and too many friends to various forms of cancer. I’m sure many of you reading this could share a similar story of loss and heartache.
In their honour I am once again hosting a Biggest Morning Tea.
