My Why

This year I’m hosting a Biggest Morning Tea in memory of my Mum, Laurie, and for everyone who has been touched by cancer.

Like so many families, ours has felt the impact of cancer in ways that stay with you. Mum also lost her dad to cancer, so this cause was always close to her heart.

This year’s event will be a crafternoon tea, which feels especially meaningful.

Mum loved seeing her loved ones happy, and my happiest place has always been doing craft with good people. She was part of my OG Crafternoon Club and one of its biggest fans. She would be the first to admit she was not naturally crafty, but she loved learning, creating, and being part of it. We also had our own little book club with monthly high tea catch ups, so this mix of craft and cuppas feels especially close to her.

I’m also doing this for my littlest loves, Esme and Arthur, who never got to meet their grandma but will grow up knowing how deeply she was loved and how much she would've loved them.
