HI All
I often get asked, Why the Cancer Council? 
During our lifetime we are all touched with a story about cancer. Whether it be yourself, a family member, a friend, a work colleague or maybe even a story in social media that resounds with you, we have been touched. 
It is estimated that around 2 in 5 people (or 43%) will be diagnosed with cancer. 
Sadly, I think I have been pounded with a bloody big hammer, not just touched. Each year the list keeps growing, of family, friends and colleagues, the people I love and cherish, who have been inflicted with this terrible diagnosis. It not only impacts them, physically & emotionally, it hits all those close to them in a way that alters your heart & mind forever.
Although research is behind the current times, the total patient economic burden associated with cancer care in 2019 was $21.09 Billion. And that's just the recorded costs. It is estimated that for each person the average excess cost of care was $1622 for the year before diagnosis and $33,944 for the first year post-diagnosis. Then there is the following years of care and support.
So, with the hammer falling on so many of my loved ones, I not only want to be there for them physically and emotionally, I want to help financially.
I implore you to join me and the Allianz team to raise some ongoing needed funds for research and support for this extremely worthwhile cause.
