Our morning Tea

After a lot of cooking sessions making slices, sausage rolls, cakes, sandwiches, my wife making decorations, hunting local businesses for donations for a raffle, family members helping set up the event we finally arrived at the day. The weather all week had been wet (gratefully received I might add) . The sun popped out and the rain held off to present a great day to get outside and play a bit of golf.

Vale Phil Bernadou - Targa Classica

Sadly, the motorsport industry has farewelled Phil Bernadou who succumbed to Cancer earlier this month.
Phil was very much involved with the annual route designs, the extraordinarily detailed Road Books and the daily running of the "Targa Classica" annual car rally since its inception 10 years ago, ensuring that every car started the event each day and welcomed you back at the end of each day.

On the last afternoon at this year's event Phil gave Toby and I the thrilling news that we had achieved third place, a moment we won't forget.

Phil's achievements in the motorsport go further. Among them, Phil was instrumental in introducing the Porsche Cup to Australia back in the mid 1980's, both as a competitor and the series administrator. Phil purchased a damaged1967/68 Porsche 911 that had competed in the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon. Having restored it and equipped it with track tyres, he went on to become the winner of Class C in the inaugural era of the series. Phil went onto become the Series Administrator for the Porsche
Cup from 1988-1994.
In 1995 Phil was the Deputy Clerk of the Course for the  Mobil 1 Round Australia Trial
From there, Phil served as the Event Director and deputy Clerk of the Course for the Classic Outback Trial from 2009-2018. His impact and dedication in the motorsport world has been felt both nationally and globally.
And of course, more recently as a greatly valued member of the Targa Classica family .
A greatly respected and very well loved person, Phil faced his illness with determination and pragmatism. When talked with Phil you would not have known. Such was the man. Vale Phil. It has been such a privilege to have known you.

Wagga Wagga's BIGGEST MORNING TEA at PAR3

Hi everyone,
I am recently retired from teaching (40 years) and I am busier than ever. Doing things that I really want to do. Like upping the commitment to hosting Australia's BIGGEST MORNING TEA.

This year, we are hosting our BMT at
"Wagga Wagga Par 3 & Driving Range"
79 Narrung Street
Wagga Wagga NSW
on Saturday 6th June  from 9am to 1pm.
This weekend is the "Greens Keepers revenge"  where all obstacles are put in your way to get the  hole. It is a fun filled day for all of the family.
It is also a light hearted attempt to demonstrate the challenges, obstacles and frustration that people with cancer face every day.

Come and join us at Wagga Wagga Par 3 and enjoy a cuppa and some lovely morning tea and donate to a very special and much needed cause.
Also supporting this event are some of Wagga Wagga's great businesses, including
Abundance Agency
BELLE  Property
Pats Tyre Service
Riverina Construction and Maintenance Services (RCM Services)
Riverina Party Hire.
This list of supporters is being constantly updated.

I have also significantly increased my fundraising target this year as we are now in a more public domain.
Cancer impacts on everyone. Whether you suffer cancer or your loved one does, it still has an impact. If, like me, you are one of the lucky ones that does not suffer a form of cancer then the best thing we can do is support the cause. This event is a great way to do so.  Please
