Why I’m Hosting a Women in Business Biggest Morning Tea
This year, I decided to do something that combines two things that mean so much to me, supporting women and raising money for cancer research.
As many of you know, I’m the founder of Upkeep Skin & Brows and one thing I’ve become incredibly passionate about throughout my business journey is creating spaces where women can genuinely connect, support one another and feel empowered. Running a business can sometimes feel isolating, overwhelming and all-consuming, especially in the early stages, and I truly believe there is so much power in women championing other women.
Some of the most beautiful opportunities, friendships and moments of growth in my life have come from community and from women who have supported, encouraged and inspired me along the way. I wanted to create an event that reflected exactly that, a room full of women from all different industries and walks of life coming together to connect, uplift one another and celebrate what we do.
But beyond business and connection, this event is deeply personal to me for another reason. Ten years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
At the time, our world completely stopped. Anyone who has experienced cancer, whether personally or through someone they love, understands the fear, uncertainty and heartbreak that comes with it. It changes not only the person diagnosed, but every person around them. Thankfully, ten years later, my dad is still here and in remission, something I will never take for granted.
Because of that experience, supporting cancer research and organisations like Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and the Cancer Council is something that sits incredibly close to my heart. So many families are impacted by cancer every single day, and I wanted to use this event as an opportunity to not only bring women together, but also give back to a cause that means so much to me personally.
Thank you to everyone who has supported, donated, shared the event or simply encouraged the idea along the way. It genuinely means more than you know.
Support my Biggest Morning Tea
Join me at our Women in Business Biggest Morning Tea this Sunday the 17th of May or support the cause by donating online.
This event is all about bringing women together to connect, uplift and support one another, while also raising vital funds for the Cancer Council, a cause incredibly close to my heart after my dad’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis 10 years ago.
Together, we can help fund life-changing cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy and support services for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Every ticket, donation and share genuinely makes a difference.
