Last year the youth cancer group raised over $10,000 and held a fantastic community morning tea with over 100 attendees, including local advocates, MPs, and of course patients and survivors, our family and friends. I'm taking it easy this year and instead of holding an event I'm asking that you treat YOURSELF to a cupcake or slice of cake (or two!).
As you enjoy your cake, take a moment to think of all the tireless work that Cancer Council does to support those in need, and to think of those who we have lost to this terrible disease. We carry them with us.
Your donation will go towards essential services, research and advocacy. Thank you for your generosity!
Reflecting on last year
In 2025 the youth cancer group put on a fantastic morning tea - you can see some photos below.
We raised a lot of money, but most importantly, we came together as a community. We shared our stories, our gratitude for support and the importance of Cancer Council's work. It took work to organise, and we got a lot done!
This year I am hoping I can continue that work and raise more for Cancer Council.
I have faced new challenges this year as my own cancer progresses, and so I have less energy and capacity to join in and plan big events. Instead, I'm focusing on the power of social networks to reach people!
