Making a Difference Together

Within the last year somebody very near and dear to my heart has been diagnosed with, and is undergoing treatment for, a fairly uncommon blood cancer called amyloidosis.



Seeing how this illness and the resulting chemotherapy treatment have affected this person has been incredibly difficult, but has also opened my eyes to the wonderful work done by so many and the services that exist to help those going through such a tough time.



It also made me realise that cancer comes in many different forms - some harsher than others - and in sharing the story of this person's journey with friends, family and coworkers, I've discovered that almost every person you meet will have been affected by cancer in some way - be it directly or through a friend, family member or loved one.

Seeing how wonderful every member of this person's care team has been every step of the journey - through the good and the bad - has left me in awe and full of gratitude.

That's why when I saw Australia's Biggest Morning Tea was coming up, I made the decision to create my own fundraiser. I’ve just set a humble goal of $500, but every dollar counts towards vital support services, research, and advocacy.
