Why I'm Hosting Australia's Biggest Morning Tea This Year

On 16 June, our team will be hosting Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for cancer research and support services.

For many people, it's a chance to come together over a cuppa and some delicious treats while supporting an important cause. For me, this year's event is deeply personal.

Like so many Australian families, cancer has touched ours. This year, my dad has been navigating his own cancer journey, and it has been one of the most challenging experiences our family has faced.

Watching someone you love go through appointments, treatments, uncertainty, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with a cancer diagnosis changes your perspective. It reminds you how precious time is, how important support is, and how many families are quietly walking a similar path every day.

One thing I have been incredibly grateful for throughout this journey is the support I've received from my workplace. Balancing family responsibilities, work commitments, and the emotional impact of a loved one's illness isn't always easy, and having understanding colleagues and a supportive team has made a world of difference.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to bring our workplace together for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea this year. It's an opportunity to give back, raise awareness, and support the vital work being done to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

Every dollar raised helps fund cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for Australians facing cancer today and in the future.

Cancer affects not just the person diagnosed, but their families, friends, colleagues, and entire communities. By coming together, we can help make a difference.
