Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
Some of our residents, their friends and family and a special guest celebrated on the rooftop to raise funds for QCC - Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. It was to be a small intimate affair if some 10 guests which quickly grew to approximately 20 guests. We themed the morning ‘vintage or old school’ baking whereas our residents provided old favs- crunchy chocolate spiders, chocolate ripple cake, brownies, strawberry tart, passion fruit slice, monte Carlo’s, melting moments, jam drops, sandwiches, frittata etc to get us salivating for more. As usual we over catered but a fun was morning was held and enjoyed by all in attendance. Th event was held on our recently refurbed rooftop area , a place we call home located on the stunning Broadwater with captivating 180degree views of the wonderful Gold Coast. Our guest of honour was Hazel, an elderly local lady who had fund raised for QCC over the past 20 years. She has earned numerous awards for her tireless work fundraising over this time. Hazel shared some of her early fund raising experiences before we all reflected, celebrated and , empathised with each other knowing full well that every person has been impacted in some way because of this insidious disease.
Our donations amount to a collective $400.
Thank you everyone for you assistance, and donations to this worthy cause.
I am already planning AGMT 2027 and so excited for it, it will be bigger and better and more importantly,, a time to raise funds, give thanks for all the survivors, remember those that weren’t so lucky and think of those on this tough journey.
