Welcome All Families Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser

Hello, our wonderful & vibrant school can't/home edders kids social group called "Welcome All Families" which is held at Trott Park Neighbourhood Centre on Mondays, is holding a biggest morning tea on Monday the 28th of April to help raise money for the Cancer Council.

As most of us are touched by someone diagnosed with cancer, we would like to help our kids develop awareness of the importance of giving where we can, so we will be hosting a special person's morning and baking some cakes and biscuits to share with our guests. We hope to raise money and share the importance of community, especially when things get tough and our friends and or loved ones get might sick.

As a cancer survivor myself, this is very dear to my heart. This year marks 30 years since I was diagnosed with cancer as a teenager, my first son Rohan, was born sleeping at 19 weeks gestation after my placenta became cancerous, due to undiagnosed cervical cancer, with secondary cancer of the uterus and lungs. I endured multiple surgeries and many months of chemotherapy.

We aim to raise $250 as a community group to donate to the Cancer Council, but would love to double that if possible. Please consider donating what you can on behalf of our young social group, who are extremely inspiring and learning about the complexities life, or perhaps on behalf of someone you know or love who has experienced cancer also. Let's hope that one day soon, we can eradicate this horrible disease for good. Many thanks - on behalf of our kids, parents, carers and team at Welcome All Families.
