Our mum Gayle

In early February 2026 we were shocked to find out from a routine mammogram that mum had breast cancer.
Within the week she'd had surgery to remove the  tumour and were making plans for treatment which would include chemotherapy and radiation. Triple Negative Breast Cancer - Stage 1.
Mid March she began chemotherapy which would include weekly chemo for 12 weeks with the highlight being the cold cap offered to save her hair.  I think she's the only woman in Australia to look forward to wearing this cap!!
At the 6 week mark the doctor decided that it was time to change chemotherapy medications because the side effects were taking a huge toll on her. Still rarely complaining!  In the Oncologists words, 'You came here looking like a Roles Royce and now you're looking like a beat up Mini Minor'.
From here the plan is two more cycles of chemotherapy and then on to radiation.   Half way mum. You've got this and we've got you! XXX

Wonderful Wendy 7/2/1953 - 20/3/2026

We lost Wendy to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) on 20/3/2026. Aged 73. We miss her everyday.
In September 2024 Wendy finally got an answer for her rapidly declining health, after being hospitalised and treated for different conditions for months with no results.  Unfortunately the answer was  a rare and aggressive form of Lymphoma.   She underwent intensive chemotherapy spending most of her time unwell in hospital and then rehab for the better part of 6 months.  
Her recovery and rehab was slow and frustrating for her but against all odds she returned home to live independently, and become stronger, happier and healthier than she had been in years.
Then after 12 months at home she was hit with the news that the treatment that cured her Lymphoma had given her a secondary cancer that could not be cured.  AML.
We got 3 more months of time to spend with her, which was not enough. The strength she showed right to the end was inspirational.
She was a wonderful mum and mother in law, an adoring nan, and a cherished sister taken far too soon. X
