In Honour of the fabulous Tammie Welk

We are proud to be taking part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in honour of our much-loved team member, Tammie Welk, who is currently facing Multiple Myeloma with strength and courage. This event is a chance for us to come together not only to show our support for Tammie, but also to raise vital funds for those affected by cancer across Australia. By joining this cause, we stand in solidarity with all individuals and families impacted by cancer, helping to contribute to a future with better treatments, more research, and greater hope.

 Written by Tammie herself, here is a snapshot of what Tammie is going through on a daily basis and will continue to go through for the foreseeable future.

“I have Multiple Myeloma, the second most common type of blood cancer. It’s a serious, incurable disease but with treatment it can be managed.
When I was first diagnosed in July 2021, I was given a life expectancy of about 10 years. However, since then, there’s been new hope, and today, there’s real potential for a slightly longer life than originally expected. Survival rates have increased which is a good sign.

Multiple Myeloma has caused me constant bone and lower back pain.  chemotherapy and medications leave me fatigued, with side effects like chemo sweats, “chemo brain,” and no bone strength. My energy levels are low, making it hard to stay active and focused. Every day is a challenge, physically and mentally, as I try to navigate life with cancer.”

Every dollar raised helps fund vital cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for people like Tammie across Australia.
