Apple and date bliss balls

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 5 pitted dates
  • 1½ cups dried apple, chopped
  • 3-5 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp desiccated coconut & more for rolling
  • 1 tsp vanilla

0.25 serves of fruit per bliss ball

METHOD

  1. Blend oats in a high-speed blender or food processor until they’re a flour-like consistency.

  2. Add the apple, coconut and vanilla and process. Slowly add the dates and water. Start with three tablespoons of water and add more if required.

  3. Scoop out the mixture, slightly dampen hands, roll into balls and coat in more coconut.

Reduce Waste:

  • Store bliss balls in an airtight container.
  • Leftover dried apple can be eaten as a snack or chopped and added to home made muesli.

Nutrition tip

  • Oats, dates and dried apple provide a fibre boost. Fibre helps keep you fuller for longer.
